LSU Put Up A Jayden Daniels Billboard In Las Vegas, Which Just So Happens To Be Where Bo Nix Is Playing Tonight
Now that's some good trolling. Oregon fans making their way to Allegiant Stadium tonight for the Pac-12 Championship Game will have to look up at a giant portrait of Jayden Daniels on the way there.
LSU is really going all-in on this Daniels Heisman campaign, which is something you don't really see in earnest anymore. Websites like the one linked in that tweet used to go up for a dozen players before the season 15 years ago and now nobody really does that. So good on LSU for caring enough to do all this for Daniels.
Predictably, however, Oregon fans are triggered by all this and need to remind everyone that the Ducks are really good this year.
Yeah, nobody is debating that Oregon is a better team than LSU. The Ducks would probably be a 17-point favorite if the two played, which is why UO is still in the running for the best team award you can win and LSU isn't. The Heisman Trophy, however, is an individual award and Daniels is not only better than Nix by pretty much any metric you want to use, he's better than most Heisman winners of the last 50 years.
Daniels also achieved his numbers while playing the likes of Florida State, Alabama, Ole Miss and Missouri while Nix's ranked opponents outside of Washington were 4-8 Colorado, 8-4 Utah and 8-4 Oregon State. Do not let one of the most outstanding individual seasons in college football this century be overshadowed because LSU lost three games. The Heisman Trophy is an individual award.
I didn't really care who won it this year until I saw Oregon fans getting incredibly upset online about this while their team is fighting for a College Football Playoff spot and now I'm rooting very hard for Jayden Daniels.
